China To Accept The Alternative Test Data Under This Pandemic Scenario

The Cosmetic Supervision and Administration Regulation (CSAR) specifies new cosmetic ingredients will be managed based on the associated risks. Ingredients associated with high risk must be registered with the National Medical Products Association (NMPA) while low risk ingredients will be subject to notification management.

Even though the low risk ingredients are subject to notification management, safety standards are not relaxed, registration and notification procedures remains the same. Cosmetics manufactured under GMP with sustained safety as defined by risk assessment can be exempted from toxicology testing except in certain conditions.
